Hall of Justice

Arraignment sessions occur Monday through Friday and start at 9:00 a.m.  If an interpreter is required for any proceeding, contact Municipal Court one week prior to your scheduled proceeding.
 
The Casper Municipal Court is on the Fifth Floor of the Hall of Justice located at 201 North David, one block west of Center Street.

  • Municipal Court has jurisdiction over City Ordinance violation cases filed by the City Attorney’s Office, Casper Police Department, Metro Animal Control, and Code Enforcement. All cases filed in Municipal Court are misdemeanors.
  • City Parking Ticket violations are administratively managed by the Support Services Division.
    • A parking violation may be contested in Municipal Court.
  • Tickets issued by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Wyoming Game and Fish, or the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office are not heard in Casper Municipal Court. They are heard in the Circuit Court of the Seventh Judicial District which is located in the Townsend Justice Center at 115 N. Center Street.

Request for Interpreter

If an interpreter is required for any proceeding, contact Municipal Court one week prior to your scheduled proceeding.  The court provides this service to ensure that non-English speakers receive the same protection and due process as English speakers, and can fully understand the court proceedings.

The court is always in need of interpreters: if you fluently speak and write a foreign language please contact the court if you would like to become a court interpreter.

If you have not found what you were looking for on our site, it may be possible that another entity may be able to assist you. Many individuals that contact Casper Municipal Court actually have an offense or ticket with another entity such as Natrona County or the State of Wyoming. In those cases, your case will likely be heard in State Circuit Court or State District Court.

Family court (divorce, paternity, child custody), Civil disputes for amounts over $7000, Criminal (felony only, no misdemeanors or traffic violations), Probate (guardianships, conservatorships, wills), *Juvenile, *Involuntary Hospitalizations, *Adoptions, as well as the receipting and disbursing of child support. District Court acts as the Appellate Court for courts of lesser jurisdiction (Circuit Court and Municipal Court) in Natrona County. It is also a court of permanent records, and with cases going back to the 1890's. (* indicates confidential cases not open for public review)
