WRPA Award for Edwin

This award recognizes an WRPA member who has at least 3-years of full-time work experience in the field and has made an outstanding contribution in the profession. These contributions must have been in the form of 2 or more of the following:

Displayed an interest in furthering their professional background by attending and/or participating in workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Displayed a desire to further professional growth through continued education and/or obtaining further certifications.
Displayed a desire to further their professional growth through active involvement in field related work and/or committees and sections.

The Casper Recreation Division has something for all residents and visitors, at a fantastic price! Whether it be dropping in to workout at the Recreation Center, swimming at the Aquatic Center, or skating at the Ice Arena, there's always something to do.

PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT:
The Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Casper residents and visitors by providing safe and well-maintained community facilities, parks, trails, and open spaces and preserving historic resources.

It is our goal to provide inclusive recreation and leisure opportunities for current and future generations.

VISION STATEMENT:
Create positive Parks and Recreation experiences and educational opportunities that inspire personal growth encouraging healthy, active, social lifestyles for Casper residents and visitors. Strive for excellence in providing quality facilities, parks, programs, and events; attracting residents, visitors, and businesses contributing to our community’s economic development and tourism.

Recreation Center

The Casper Recreation Center features a gymnasium for basketball and volleyball, weight room, cardio fitness room, locker rooms, game room, and several multi-purpose rooms and meeting areas. Classes in dance, sports, martial arts, arts and crafts, specialty interests and more are offered at convenient times for all ages! The facility serves as a site for a wide variety of programs and drop-in activities, in addition to being the focal point of recreation services in the community.

Aquatics

The Casper Family Aquatic Center is the area's largest aquatic facility. If offers two huge slides, hot tub, lap pool and many water features. Swim lessons and water exercise classes are held at various times throughout the day and evening. Individuals and families are sure to find many opportunities to stay active and have fun this Winter.

Ice Arena

The Casper Ice Arena is one of the finest ice skating facilities in the Rocky Mountain Region. The ice arena offers a wide variety of programs including public skating, skating classes through the Casper Skating School, figure skating, hockey, curling, special events, birthday parties, and private rentals. The Casper Ice Arena also offers a full service concession stand and skate sharpening.

Welcome to the City of Casper Athletic Complexes, home to various events, sports, leagues, and teams! Our outstanding team, led by City of Casper Recreation Supervisor Paul Zowada, takes care of 85 acres of formal turf, with just under 6 acres of that being infield playing surfaces.

The Colorado Chapter for Sports Turf Managers Association has given the City of Casper the following awards:

Fort Caspar Museum

Explore central Wyoming’s regional history museum, featuring exhibits on prehistoric peoples, Plains Indians, ranching, the energy industry, and the City of Casper as well as the western emigrant trails and frontier army. Outside, tour a reconstructed 1865 military post located at a major river crossing on the Oregon, Mormon Pioneer, California, Pony Express, and transcontinental telegraph trail corridor.
