City of Casper resumes normal operations Winter conditions exist on City streets
Casper, Wyoming (February 4, 2020) – All City of Casper offices and facilities are open today for their normal hours.  Garbage collection services will resume on a one-day-delayed schedule with Monday’s route collected today and Friday’s route collected on Saturday.  Residents are asked to place trash containers in the street near the curb and not on the sidewalk.  Streets throughout Casper are snow-packed with drifts in some residential areas.  Though the no unnecessary travel advisory has been lifted, the public is advised that winter conditions and drifts still exist on residential streets and precautions should be taken. Snowplows have been working twenty-four hours since Sunday night.  They have cleared the arterial streets and are finishing streets by schools this morning.  Snowplows will turn their attention to collector streets today.  Because winds are expected to pick up again tonight, there will be a special emphasis on picking up snow on the arterial street, Indian Paintbrush, where snow is plowed to the side instead of the middle.  Crews are estimating they will begin pickup at 10 a.m.  Residents on Indian Paintbrush are asked to have their vehicles off the street to enable crews to get this arterial street cleared of snow. Snowplows will not be able to respond to requests to clear residential streets at this time.    If you have a 911 or life or death emergency, call 911 for assistance.  Snowplows will work in tandem with emergency services. The regularly scheduled Casper City Council meeting will be held tonight in Casper City Hall Council Chambers at 6 p.m.  It can also be viewed on cable channel 192 or YouTube.  The City’s website,, has instructions for viewing as well as the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
